I'm thinking about trying a skimboard with my current kites.
Any recommendations or used gear out there?

LOADS of useful skim & strapless info & conversation here:

Since a skim doesn't have fins, or straps, at first ride, you'll probably think "this is impossible!". Then, after a few attempts, you just might aquire a taste for it... <wink>

You're free to try out my skim if/when we run into eachother at the beach. When you do get a chance to try one out, it's prob gonna feel like the first time you rode a bicylce...maybe a bicycle on ice? (#o#)

The challenge, and satisfaction when you make it all work, is where the stoke is. (^-^)m

I make inexpensive wood skim boards that work really well. I would be happy to make you one that you can get build your skills on before you spend a lot of money. One advantage of the wood boards is they are virtually indestructable. I constantly run my up on to the reef and hit rocks in low tide. All it takes is a little sand paper and varnish and the board is good to go.

Matt,

That sounds like a plan. Do you need info for size? I'm short and weight about 160.
Are they flat or with some rocker to them?
I'd be psyched to get one.

PS: Dean, thanks for the offer mate!
